Most coins advertised on television and in magazines for $39.99 or less are souvenir commemorative coins worth a fraction of their retail price. They have a few milligrams of gold or silver plating and are not legal tender value (not issued by the U.S. Mint) or have any real collectable value compared to legal tender and precious metal coins.
