A mantra of Conservative politicians is free enterprise and business deregulation. They claim it saves consumers money. Decades of free enterprise has not enriched most people. But, it has enriched some people and saved businesses money. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was 875 when Ronald Reagan was sworn in as President in 1981, today it is nearing 40,000.
